The Vision

Hi,

My name is Kayla and I am a 21 year old college student. I am not exactly sure what this blog will be about, but I have a feeling it will end up very random and not necessarily dedicated to one thing...because I am scatter-brained like that. I sort of envision it as a beauty blog of sorts?.... perhaps like a blog with my projects, art, cooking, make up, clothing, and whatever else I feel like including. I will probably also include updates on college and life in general.

I suppose I will start off with a little bit about me. Instead of rambling on about things I feel that I have posted numerous times before on other sites, I thought I'd just include this old Facebook note:

1) I was born in Germany, and my mom is German. I love her <3 I have lived in Germany, Kansas, Hawaii, Tennessee, New York, Vermont, and Montana.

2) I have a social anxiety disorder. It makes life difficult at times (many common everyday things make me nervous), but I take life one day at a time and am thankful for those who are accepting and patient.

3) I have four amazing sisters and I love them dearly.

4) I love animals :) There’s just something about someone who doesn’t mind the silence.

5) Hibiscus is my favorite flower. I used to love looking at them as a little girl in Hawaii.

6) I love pictures! I love taking them and looking at them. I like myspace and facebook because I can look at everyone’s pictures and see that everyone is happy and well. So if you have pictures, I’ve probably looked at them several times…haha sorry if that’s odd!

7) One of the best friends I have ever had was actually a kitty cat named Skittles. Now that she’s gone I feel like a part of me is missing :(

8) I consider myself to have a long lost “twin.” She is a beautiful and wonderful young woman and her name is Rachel Wood. I met her in 6th grade, which was when we realized that we have the same exact birthday (02-15-1988) and last name. She doesn’t know this, but I wish I had gotten to know her better, because she will always be special to me.

9) I have a secret desire to dance. Though I don’t normally purposely put myself in these situations, I love it when everyone is moving to the music and I finally get comfortable enough to do the same. I feel so carefree and it’s so much fun.

10) I recently attended my first rock concert, which btw was AMAZING! I think I have concert fever now. I am hooked and I can’t wait for the next opportunity!

11) I rarely forget people, and I am thankful for anyone and everyone who’s even said hello to me and smiled. I <3 you all!

12) I really, really, really enjoy rollercoaster’s…but ever since I was hit in the head (or for whatever reason) I get dizzy a lot easier, so I’m not sure if a rollercoaster would make me sick now? It really sucks!

13) I like picking someone special to me and personalizing a journal for him or her. I then write in it over a period of time, and when it’s all filled up I can give it to him/her as a gift. It’s sort of a new thing I do, but I have already completed a few :) (maybe I'll write one for you some day)

14) I am obsessed with chips, barbecue sauce, cheese, and cheesecake.

15) I don’t drive. I don’t really like to explain why…

16) People sometimes think I am mad at them or don’t like them for one reason or another, when actually it’s nothing personal, it’s just that I don’t have much to say or I am having anxiety issues. Usually I am worrying that you might not like me!

17) I have a hard time with small-talk, so I tend to be more nervous around girls, because, well…girls like to talk…about everything. Haha…but still, I wish I had more close girl friends.

18) A few years ago, I made a list of 100 things I want to do in my lifetime. Every time I accomplish something, I add something else so the list keeps growing!

19) I hope to go on an awesome honeymoon some day. In fact, I often think about that more then I do about having a wedding.

20) I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs

21) I get amused when people have something in common with me. (such as Kayla Mae and Andy... you rock ^__^)

22) I was in chorus for six years and I miss it so much! In any other circumstance I would be uncomfortable on stage and in front of people, but singing with everyone was really a surprisingly powerful and oh so fun experience. Some of my best middle school and high school memories are from times in chorus!!!

23) I believe laughing is a great cure! It always feels good to laugh. Oh and hugs too!

24) I have a wonderful boyfriend! He is my best friend, my first kiss, and my first love. <3

25) I love seeing hawks, eagles, and other birds of prey soaring high up in the sky. I get really excited and it always makes me smile. Whenever we're going for a long drive, I'll be looking out my window for them. I really like watching birds fly in general, but the raptors are my favorite.
