Room projects & Mini Haul

I have slowly been fixing up my room the way I envisioned it :) and I am really liking it thus far. There is still quite a bit to do, but I thought I would update you on some of the new additions. I think I mentioned in a previous post that I had planned to work on a little photo collage for my desk. Well, I finished that a few days ago. I have some colored polka dots I was going to put on there, but I decided not to. I will try to find another use for those.

I also decided I wanted to make something that I could hang my necklaces on, because I was tired of them getting all tangled together in the jewelry box. I stumbled upon this idea and decided to try it.

First, you get some vase filler gems (I already had some for another project I am going to be working on eventually). If you use the clear kind, you can just glue whatever color paper you want to the back of it to get the desired color. If you use a colored gem, you should still glue a piece of paper to the back, but just remember that the color paper you use will show through as well. For example, I used green paper on the back of the light blue gems to create a teal effect. I glued the paper on using decoupage glue, since that's all I had, but you could probably use hot glue or anything suitable. Then, you take some ordinary thumbtacks and hot glue them to the paper on the back of the gems. These were made by the author of the "Project Domestic Bliss" blog, and she used larger gems and used them on the bulletin board she made, which is another lovely idea.

However, here is how I chose to use them. I just painted this today :)
My duvet cover and pillow shams (as well as my textbooks for school) came a couple days ago and I was thrilled! The estimated delivery date wasn't until next week. It was a pain in the butt to get the cover on my down comforter, but it's all good now.
MINI HAUL:

I got this top and necklace from forever21! I loooove it loooove it looove it. It just got here today and I'm already wearing it lol.I think that's all I'm gonna include in this post :-P I did order a few other things, but I don't wanna update until they get here, so I can let you know how I like them.

Hope you enjoyed!

  1. I REALLY REALLY like your shirt!!!! FANTASTIC!!!! Owls are my fav animal too :) wooooot woooooot! =] I painted an owl pic a while back it's pretty cool too lol :) Oh and I also really like your collage of photos!!! You've inspired me to continue doing mine hehe. :)

Well hope you have a WONDERFUL day... and I'm glad you're enjoying tech this year! It sounds like you are anyway from the tweet updates. Anywho, take care.

  2. Aww thanks! <3333 Yes owls are AWESOMEEE! So cute :) I saw your tweet about your owl purse and necklace. That is so cool! I bet they are adorable. I hope your school year is off to a great start, despite those tough seminar courses and stuff. I DREAD those types of situations... But I'm sure you can handle it and you'll be wonderful!
And yes, I am enjoying Tech! But I am not actually enrolled :/ I dunno if you read my posts about my school/financial issues (probably not because I was ranting on and on haha), but yea...basically they did not give me enough money at all. My need was high and they think they can just offer parent plus loans and that should be good enough for everyone, and it's so annoying. My mom cannot take out loans and she got denied like right away. I wish they wouldn't expect so much from your parents when it comes to college. My only other option was to take out private loans, but you need a cosigner for that and I don't have anyone who can do that... So yea, I am taking online classes again as a last resort while I figure out what the HECK I am going to do! lol sorry....

Anyway, Tech is wonderful even though I am not taking classes there lol. I do have a Tech ID card though :-P and I get to eat dinner there sometimes and go on the field trips hehe. And I have met some pretty nice ppl as well, which is always good :)

  3. yeah :) I wobb my purse!! :D lol Maybe i'll make a blog about that too. Then you can see what it looks like!

School is off to a great start :) so far anyway. lol My nature and society class (the seminar) is alright. I don't really like my teacher... i don't think she teaches good, but i've only had her class two times so far. So I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that it gets better. I was fine the second day with talking, but i hope it gets better. I'm still pretty nervous tho.

Yep, I read your blog posts. I always do :) they are interesting and I enjoy them. I thought since you were hanging out at tech and still living in butte that you were going to tech. But okay that makes sense :) just hanging out there. I loved tech when I lived there!!! The dorms were SO much fun!!!! ahhhh! :)

Taking out loans sucks :( I will be far in debt when I graduate too. But I hope i get a good career so I can pay them back fast. Andy said he'll help me, so that will be good too. (cuz his parents pay for his college and since he doesn't have to pay any debt he told me that he'll help me.. and i told him No, don't. But he insists :) And with the parent loans, I don't know why the colleges make them at least apply for one? My mom also got denied, just like every other year. ugh. Financial aid is so frustrating and sometimes very difficult to deal with, it's like you have to take a full class on it to fully understand it all. But at least there is financial aid! Otherwise most of us wouldn't even be in school. lol

I'm glad to hear you're taking online courses still tho! I hope they're going great too :) lol Yay for a Tech ID card! woot. I have mine from there still. lol And yay for meeting new ppl. I'm glad you're opening up lil by lil. You are a good person Kayla, and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't like you if you opened up.

Anywho, :) I hope you have a grrrrrreat day :D
