I also decided I wanted to make something that I could hang my necklaces on, because I was tired of them getting all tangled together in the jewelry box. I stumbled upon this idea and decided to try it.
First, you get some vase filler gems (I already had some for another project I am going to be working on eventually). If you use the clear kind, you can just glue whatever color paper you want to the back of it to get the desired color. If you use a colored gem, you should still glue a piece of paper to the back, but just remember that the color paper you use will show through as well. For example, I used green paper on the back of the light blue gems to create a teal effect. I glued the paper on using decoupage glue, since that's all I had, but you could probably use hot glue or anything suitable.
Then, you take some ordinary thumbtacks and hot glue them to the paper on the back of the gems.
These were made by the author of the "Project Domestic Bliss" blog, and she used larger gems and used them on the bulletin board she made, which is another lovely idea.
However, here is how I chose to use them.

I just painted this today :)
My duvet cover and pillow shams (as well as my textbooks for school) came a couple days ago and I was thrilled! The estimated delivery date wasn't until next week. It was a pain in the butt to get the cover on my down comforter, but it's all good now.
MINI HAUL:
I got this top and necklace from forever21! I loooove it loooove it looove it. It just got here today and I'm already wearing it lol.
I think that's all I'm gonna include in this post :-P I did order a few other things, but I don't wanna update until they get here, so I can let you know how I like them.Hope you enjoyed!
